It’s summer, and in the Northern hemisphere we are enjoying long, light-filled days. As we stretch out on the grass, watching the clouds float over our heads, we can see winged creatures floating, soaring and flitting by. Birds, bees and winged insects all find their flow on currents of air.

The theme of A Year and a Day, Issue 18: Summer 2024 is flight. There are three stories all about flight and what happens when people try to fly, what it might be like to have a bird’s eye view of life, and the mystery that is woven into the wings of butterflies.
